Meltem Deren is the Managing Partner at Alexander Hughes, Turkey. She is responsible for running the Firm’s operations, ensuring highest quality standards of projects’ delivery and full engagement of the team.
Having completed over 150 mid and C level executive search and leadership assessment projects across diverse industries both in Turkey and cross borders, Meltem specializes in Financial Services and Private Equity. Having worked as a functional leader for more than 15 years in capital markets and investment banking, Meltem understands the business needs well and offers in depth insight in the organization of effective leadership teams, succession planning, executive search and assessment of leadership talent in global companies. Throughout her business experience since 1990, Meltem has had the opportunity to accumulate a broad network of business executives across various industries, functions and geographies while keeping abreast of latest business trends and developments. Prior to executive search, Meltem had previously worked for Disbank Istanbul and Deutsche Bank London as Head of Risk Management, Head of Treasury Marketing and VP, Institutional Sales, respectively. She also ran her own business in the entertainment industry for five years until entering into the executive search in 2007. Meltem worked for 9 years at an international executive search company as Turkey Country Manager and Regional Practice Leader of Financial Services until 2019 when she decided to serve her clients under DEREN&PARTNERS which merged with Alexander Hughes in 2022.
Meltem holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Bogazici University, Istanbul, and an MBA from Exeter University in the United Kingdom. She speaks fluent English and French.
